It’s my job to make sure businesses understand how apprenticeships and skills can actually work for them, and don’t miss the opportunities available.
I work as part of the Solent Business Growth Service, supporting employers across the region to make the most of apprenticeships, funding, and skills support. Whether it’s recruiting new talent, upskilling existing teams, or using levy transfer, I keep things simple and focus on what will actually make a difference.
Because I get it. Most businesses don’t have the time to figure out how apprenticeships work or what funding they can access. I try to cut through the noise and make it really clear what’s out there, what’s relevant, and what to do next.
I’ve worked in apprenticeships and skills for over 18 years, across roles in resourcing, business development, and leadership, including running an apprenticeship academy. That means I’ve seen it from all sides, supporting individuals into careers and helping businesses build strong teams.
I’ve spent my career working across Southampton and the wider Solent, so I know the local landscape really well. I’ve also been involved in setting up and delivering the Solent Apprenticeship Hub, which has helped shape the support available across the region.
For me, it’s about making apprenticeships and skills feel straightforward and useful, so businesses can grow with confidence and people can get started in their careers.
