Those attending the event will have opportunity to meet the team, ask questions and make connections.This milestone follows a comprehensive procurement process led by Portsmouth City Council on behalf of the Solent Growth Partnership and the Partnership for South Hampshire. The new film office will work across nine local authority areas, providing a one-stop shop for production companies, marketing the region as a premier filming destination, and unlocking opportunities for local businesses, skills, and talent.Why a regional film office? The Solent and South Hampshire area has hosted major productions in recent years — from The Crown in Winchester and Napoleon in Portsmouth, to Tenet in Southampton and The Beast Must Die on the Isle of Wight. Yet the lack of coordinated support has meant that opportunities have been missed to fully capture the economic and cultural benefits of screen production. With production spend in the South East topping £469 million in 2019 — and still growing — even a modest share could transform the regional economy.Why FilmFixer? FilmFixer brings proven expertise, currently coordinating more than 8,000 shoots a year across 15 London boroughs and managing services for major landowners and estates.
