Free Screen Skills training is now on offer to Solent creatives and new starters looking to boost their employability in TV, film, visual effects, and games sectors. The inspiring Screen Skills Bootcamp will give valuable insights into project management, enhance leadership and provide opportunities to connect with industry experts through mentoring and work shadowing opportunities.Rachael Randall, Chair of the Solent Growth Partnership said: “Our Screen Skills Bootcamp is an exceptional opportunity for ambitious project managers in the HETV, film, VFX, and games sectors to further their careers. City Eye is an independent charity that champions the film and wider screen industries across the region and offers support and development opportunities to people engaged with or seeking to get involved in the sector.Susan Beckett, Executive Director at City Eye, is delighted that this opportunity is now in place for the Solent region. We are excited to work with Solent Partners to offer this training as part of a suite of courses and projects for the South’s developing creative talent.”The 10-day intensive, in-person course will run from Monday 24 February to Friday 7 March at City Eye, Southampton. The bootcamp will be led by experienced professionals who will deliver an in-depth overview of UK screen industries. Special focus will be given to Film and High-End TV (HETV), Game Development and Visual Effects (VFX) project management.Bootcamp participants will benefit from 60 hours of hands-on training; mentorship from industry leaders, and practical workshops aimed at enhancing leadership capabilities and project management expertise. There will also be one-to-one mentorship, work shadowing opportunities, and support from career advisors to help refine CVs and prepare for job interviews.The fully funded programme is open to applicants aged over 19, including people from minority ethnic backgrounds, who are interested in advancing or starting a career in HETV/film, VFX, or games.
